Programme Office Improvement Work

BRIEF:

To take over the Programme Office development activity, which has been commenced as a result of an internal assessment, where the client had identified a number of immature areas within the Programme Office.  The assignment requirements were to develop suitable processes, procedures, standards and toolsets to mature the Programme Office, so that it could be made fully operational and operate in a Business As Usual capacity.

WHAT WE DID:

Provided best practice Programme Office Management, to this financial services client.  With regards to the set up of the programme office to support the Business Transformation Programme (bTp).  As well as ensuring that the processes, procedures, standards and toolsets were in place and rolled out across the organisation, a continuous improvement role was undertaken and already existing processes were assessed against best practice and changes recommended as appropriate.

Department for Work and Pensions

PROJECT:

Governance Project Management Consultancy

THE COMPANY:

The Department for Work and Pensions is responsible for welfare and pension policy and is a key player in tackling child poverty. It is the biggest public service delivery department in the UK and serves over 20 million customers.

BRIEF:

To provide a governance structure that would support the Central Payments System programme, in terms of the production of key products and gated reviews throughout the programmes delivery lifecycle.  Also ensuring that the governance would not be too onerous.  Along with providing expertise in the areas of planning, Risk / Assumptions / Issues / Decisions and Lessons (RAIDL) Management and Configuration / Document Management.

WHAT WE DID:

Provided best practice Programme Office Management, to this government department, in connection with ensuring the required level of governance required for the Central Payments System programme.  Introducing a best practice approach to the Gated Reviews, which are critical milestones that the programme must complete to ensure a successful go live.  Also provided programme office management support in terms of risks, configuration and planning, introducing revised processes for all of these key areas of the programme office, ensuring consistent reporting and a streamlined approach

Urenco Group

PROJECT:

SAP Quality Management Consultancy

THE COMPANY:

URENCO’s principal activity is the provision of a service to enrich uranium to provide fuel for nuclear power utilities. Its enrichment service is mostly provided on a toll basis using customers’ uranium.

URENCO fulfils its customers requirements through its four operational enrichment plants in the UK (URENCO UK), Germany (URENCO Deutschland), the Netherlands (URENCO Nederland) and the US (URENCO USA).

BRIEF:

To provide SAP Quality Management consultancy as part of Urenco’s SAP Consolidation programme. Working with Quality representatives from each of Urenco’s sites across UK and Europe. To define the best solution for the business, ensuring compatability across sites.

WHAT WE DID:

Worked through the already defined blueprint for Quality Management, highlighting any concerns and also holding workshops to confirm the need for certain functionality. Identified the data objects that required to be migrated in terms of existing data from other Urenco SAP instances. Worked with the business to ensure best fit with regards to the final solution and carried out the SAP Quality Management configuration and master data settings. Finally, worked with the development team to specify, build and test the required enhancements to support the blueprint and final solution.

BRIEF:

To provide programme management expertise in terms of delivering the business change, applications delivery and e-commerce programme of work, which was seen as critical to the Gold Medal business. Since this would help them to realise more fare availability and also to drive more customers through the Netflight.com website.

WHAT WE DID:

Provided Programme Management for their major business change and applications delivery programme. Requiring co-ordination of both the internal and external development teams, suppliers and business teams, as well as introducing best practice methods for programme delivery across the organisation.
